Overview
Like many fans, I am almost speechless. This season has been such an exhilarating ride and has brought so much joy. It feels like it came crashing down so suddenly, it took the air out of my sails.
I am writing this report more than a week after the game, so I have now had some time to process it. I am extremely grateful for this season. It brought so many people together, it made football fun, and it certainly took years off our lives. It was a season I will never forget, one filled with magic and belief, and it made me so proud to be a fan of this team, which we have not gotten to say much recently.
With that being said, let’s see what you all had to say about this painful last game.
Satisfaction with the team’s performance
1=Extremely dissatisfied, 5=Extremely satisfied

Average satisfaction rating: 3.7
Last week’s rating: 4.59
Mood meter

I was really curious to see what the mood meter looked like after this one. The top two choices of emotion varied which was fascinating to me. 30% of respondents selected “Frustrated” as their emotion after the game, while another 30% stated they were “hopeful”.
I think both make sense, and I think both can be true at the same time. I feel frustrated because we were so close to continuing our journey, but I am also hopeful because I think there is more to come. Tomorrow is never guaranteed, but when you have a coach and QB you are confident in, that is a huge part of the puzzle. I feel grateful to finally be able to say I feel strongly about that duo.
Another 30% of the respondents fell into either the sad or heartbroken category. This also makes obvious sense and is one that I have been feeling after this game. This season was so fun, and it hurts to see it come to an end, and especially because I really felt like we had a shot.
Confidence tracker (Coach & QB)
Fans were asked to rate the confidence they had in both the coach and QB, on a scale from 1-5 (with 5 being extremely confident).

Average confidence rating of Ben Johnson: 4.4
Last week’s rating: 4.76

Average confidence rating of Caleb Williams: 4.8
Last week’s rating: 4.65
It is great to see that fans feel confident about this coach and QB duo. As I was mentioning earlier, those two things are key in having a sustainable winner, and it is not something we have had too often!
Favorite (or not so favorite) moment of the game!
No surprise here, the moment most fans mentioned was the game tying touchdown catch by Kmet. What an insane play, just out of this world. As he was backing up, I thought our season was over right there. This moment deserves to be celebrated a lot, but the loss makes it hard. Here are some quotes from fans on this topic:
- “The Hail Mary at the end of the 4th quarter to tie up the game was THE BEST Bears moment ever!!”
- “The great pass by Williams to Kmet”.
- “F** Rome dropping that TD pass on the first drive . I will forever think he blew the game. Still love him but I’m holding a grudge!”
Which player stood out the most?!
| Which player stood out? | Number of votes |
| Caleb Williams | 8 |
| D’Andre Swift | 1 |
| Cole Kmet | 1 |
| Grand Total | 10 |
Fans mentioned Caleb Williams in a positive light as well as a negative light, but he certainly got most of the mentions by fans.
Final note
I shortened this week’s survey because I am going to do an end of season survey asking big picture questions. Fans are hurting and sad to see the season end of course, but they are also hopeful and proud.
I will never forget this season. I know for a fact that this season created some new Bears fans, it woke the city up. I want to see this turn into sustained success, and I think we have the leaders to make this happen.
Thank you all for participating in my first season of Bears Pulse, I really can’t put into words how much it means to me!
