End-of-Season Survey

44 Responses

Satisfaction with the season

Average satisfaction score (out of five): 4.70

The average satisfaction score from respondents was very high, at 4.70. No respondent rated their satisfaction as being less than four! This highlights how exciting a season this was and how much competence we saw from the team this year.

Mood Meter (for the future of the team)

Respondents were asked to choose an emotion that describes their mood about the team going forward. Almost every response was a positive one. About 41% of respondents stated that they were “Fired up” about the future. Almost 39% of fans noted that they were “Hopeful”, and about 18% chose “Proud”. One fan felt “confused” about the future.

This chart furthers the point made with the first question that touched on the satisfaction with the team’s season. This chart also shows that fans seem to feel this success is sustainable going forward.

Confidence in the head coach going forward

Average confidence score (out of five): 4.84

Fans seem to feel very confident in Ben Johnson, as do I. In a short period of time, he showed that he has the technical skills to outcoach his peers, and he has the leadership skills to foster a winning culture. I pinch myself every day when I think about him being the coach of my favorite team.

Confidence in the quarterback going forward

Average confidence score (out of five): 4.78

Respondents seem to be equally confident in Caleb Williams going forward, which is great to see! He still has room to grow, but he showed us a lot this year and made steady improvements. I cannot wait to see what type of jump he takes this year, even if it is getting better at the “little” things.

Favorite play(s) of the season
Fans were asked to describe their favorite play(s) of the season. Below is a summary of the results:

  • Caleb Williams TD pass to DJ Moore to beat the Packers in overtime, week 16
    • The most cited play was the walk off, overtime touchdown pass from Caleb to DJ Moore, because of course it was! Almost 40% of responses referenced that play, and for good reason. That was one of my favorite, if not THE favorite moment I have had in my Bears fandom.
  • Several fans mentioned the consistent comebacks and heroics, specifically from Caleb Williams
    • “How can I even pick? every week Caleb Williams came up with something even crazier than the last week”.
    • “Literally any of Caleb’s throws”.
  • Several respondents also mentioned Colston Loveland’s walk off touchdown in Cincinnati
  • The throw from Williams to Kmet to take the playoff game against the Rams to overtime
  • There were other moments that fans mentioned either once or twice in total. Some of those moments include:
    • D’Andre Swift’s rushing in the 21-3 comeback (I believe this is referencing the comeback against the Packers
    • Montez Sweat’s sack vs the Packers to send the game to overtime
    • Blocked FG to beat the Raiders
    • Tush push strip by Nashon Wright
    • DJ Moore crazy touchdown catch against the Browns in the back of the end-zone
    • Rome Odunze 4th down catch against the Packers
    • The shootout with the 49ers
    • Monangai’s 170-yard rushing performance against the Bengals
  • Below are some quotes from fans:
    • “Heart-attack game enders”
    • “Caleb Williams consistent comebacks in the fourth quarter and overtime”
    • “The award winner! 2025 NFL Moment of the Year award for Caleb Williams’ 46-yard walk-off touchdown pass to DJ Moore, which secured an overtime victory against the Green Bay Packers on December 20, 2025”
    • “Caleb Williams jumping throw to Odunze in Week 15 v. Packers”
    • “DJ Moore vs. Browns because I was there… the entire 4th quarter/OT sequence in the GB game”
    • “Literally any of Caleb’s throws”

Favorite player of the season
I asked fans to tell me who became their favorite player by the end of the season. Some fans gave multiple players so expect the total of votes to be higher than the number of fans surveyed. Below are the number of votes for each player (and coach). Some people voted for an entire position group or the rookie class as a whole.

PlayerVotes
Caleb Williams17
Colston Loveland15
Kyle Monangai8
Luther Burden III3
D’Andre Swift2
DJ Moore1
Cole Kmet1
O-Line (group answer)1
All Rookies (group answer)1
Ben Johnson1
  • There were a couple of takeaways from my perspective after seeing the results of this survey question:
    • I’m not surprised to see Caleb Williams atop this list, and as a Bears fan, that doesn’t feel natural! After the season Caleb had, with all the miraculous throws and stunning comebacks, it makes sense to see him number one on this list.
    • Colston Loveland was a VERY close second, proving to be prolific and a huge piece of the core going forward
    • Speaking of our core, more than half of the votes went to players that were rookies last year. If we can have a draft as successful as last year, the Bears can set themselves up for great success over the next few years

Did the Bears exceed fans’ expectations this year?
Fans were asked if the bears exceeded their expectations for this season. 100% of respondents noted that the Bears exceeded their expectations this year. Now we will see how they handle these higher expectations.

Early thoughts/expectations for next year
Fans were asked to give an early prediction about whether the Bears would regress or progress next year. Specifically, we were asking if the Bears would go farther than they did in the playoffs or come up short compared to last year. Below are the results.

More than half of the fans feel that the team will end up surpassing their result from last year, which certainly points to the hope within the fanbase. A strong contingent of fans feel that it is simply too early to call, and that they wanted to see what the team does in the offseason. About 7% of respondents feel the team will regress compared to last year.
