Overview
Wow, what a game! Did most others think the same as me, that we were going to march down and win that game at the end? It is so crazy how that has become an expectation from us this year, and this team has earned it.
Even in the loss, our team showed up on the road against a great team. Our defense needs to help at least a little bit more, but our offense showed it can keep up in a shootout!
Let’s see what the fans had to say this week!
Satisfaction with the team’s performance
1=Extremely dissatisfied, 5=Extremely satisfied

Average satisfaction rating: 3.5
Last week’s rating: 4.57
Mood meter

The run of “Fired up” has come to an end for now after this close loss! This week, almost half of the respondents left the game feeling hopeful. Even though we lost, we played a really good team on the road, with our offense going back and forth, and we were one play away from another last second win. This may have been one of the most impressive losses I’ve seen.
Some fans did note that they were frustrated, and there are several reasons for why that could be the case. One fan stated that they were encouraged but only by the offense. There certainly was not a lot of defense going on in that game!
Confidence tracker (Coach & QB)
Fans were asked to rate the confidence they had in both the coach and QB, on a scale from 1-5 (with 5 being extremely confident).

Average confidence rating of Ben Johnson: 4.57
Last week’s rating: 4.86

Average confidence rating of Caleb Williams: 4.5
Last week’s rating: 4.66
Confidence in both Ben Johnson and Caleb Williams seemed to dip just a little bit after this game. For Ben Johnson, I have heard the talk about how that last minute or so was handled, and I will say I think we could have handled that slightly better.
From a Caleb standpoint, I will be honest, I don’t think he did anything that would leave you feeling any less confident than the week before! I personally thought Caleb played a great game, and I don’t think he was one of the main reasons we lost at all. I thought he had some great throws and has still improved throughout the end of this year.
Team trend

I think this is a really interesting trend chart to look at. Even in the loss, more than half of the respondents feel that the team is trending up. If I had to guess, I would think this has to do with our offense being able to put up a lot of points, and us competing with one of the best in the league and taking it down to the wire.
Favorite (or not so favorite) moment of the game!
The play that stuck out to a lot of fans was the interception on the first play of the game, and for good reason. When that’s the first play of the game, you feel like some good things are coming your way. It was good to see Jaylon Johnson start that play off too with that tip.
There were a couple of other moments that got some attention too, both good and bad. The touchdown passes to Luther and Loveland both got mentioned, as well as the hook and ladder. One fan mentioned that Purdy running around and scoring on us was a memorable moment and I agree! I was getting so frustrated seeing him run around in the pocket and picking us apart! I don’t want to see that man Dougie on us ever again.
Which player stood out the most?!
| Which player stood out | Number of votes |
| Caleb Williams | 7 |
| Colston Loveland | 1 |
| Defense | 1 |
| DJ Moore | 1 |
| Kyle Monangai | 1 |
| Luther Burden III | 1 |
| N/A | 1 |
| Offensive line | 1 |
| Grand Total | 14 |
It was the Caleb Williams show this week, and for good reason! He had a great game, throwing the ball all over the yard, putting a lot of passes on the money. Even making plays like that touchdown to Loveland, he was able to draw a flag, and then use the free play to his advantage, that was huge!
The defense as well as DJ Moore got mentions for not so positive reasons. This one fan was confused about DJ’s lack of usage, which I agree with. I want that to be more consistent, even though I know some weeks will be bigger for other players, I think his weekly baseline of production could be higher. I am a little surprised there were not more Luther Burden III votes, he had an incredible game! He is going to be a rock star for us.
Temperature check on the season
Asked to describe their feelings about the season, fans were still feeling positive after a loss. Here are some notable responses:
- “I’m still in disbelief at where this season has ended up in the best way possible”
- “Great offensive turnaround but defense needs more talent”
- “So proud but now you want more”
- “I am so excited to be excited”
- “I feel like this season has been revitalizing!”
What do you want to tell the Bears?
Fans were asked to share a message to anyone associated with the Bears or the team itself. Below are some responses this week:
- “Everyone keeps improving. this was a very impressive game and even though it was a loss I saw so much I loved”
- “Scout team QB should be Homer, Duvernay to simulate mobile QBs”
- “Defense help them!”
- “Montez — look on the other side of that line and see what Booker is doing for a mere fraction of the money. Step up and earn your turns, bro”
- “Big Bill Consume”
- “Get well Rome.. we’re gonna need him in the playoffs”
- “Poles… GO GET CROSBY”
Whoever made the comment about Big Bill, well done! That made me laugh, I love that man! And I second that last qoute about Crosby!!!
Super bowl dreams?

Just like last week, over 90% of respondents believe this team can win the super bowl! This is even after a loss, but again, it was an impressive loss to a certain degree, so it makes sense that it did not sway people too much.
Final note
Well, even in defeat, this team is exciting. I am definitely not used to Bears offenses that get into shootouts with other good offenses. Usually, it would be our defense holding everything together for us. If we are going to want to do anything serious, we are going to either need turnovers or for our defense to do at least a little better than they did against the 49ers. Our offense will not be able to carry us completely.
I am excited for this last game of the REGULAR season! Bring on Detroit, lets get our get back!
Bear Down!
